The folks over at Trilogy Motorsports have done it again by producing an excellent and well packaged Eaton M-112 blower for the 3-Valve 5.4L, 2004 and newer F-150.

Just like their successful Marauder blower kit, this kit includes all the necessary pieces to add about 150 horsepower and more importantly well over 160 ft lbs of torque to an F-150. As many know and can appreciate, torque or low end torque is what makes things get moving, especially with heavy, 4wd F-150’s.

At the heart of Trilogy’s F-150 blower kit is an Eaton M-112 compressor that makes 9.5 psi of boost. The boosted air is shoved through their efficient water-to-air intercooler which then uses a large heat exchanger at the front of the truck behind the grill to dissipate the heat out into the atmosphere.  This entire package fits very neatly under the hood and doesn’t require any major cutting or botching of the vehicle to perform the full install and has a very OEM appearance and excellent driveability.

From a performance stand point, dyno sheets and explanations just don’t do it all. The seat of the pants feel, and the “right off idle” to 5000 rpm improvement is astonishing to say the least. The area that the 5.4L is hurting the most which is typically off idle to about 3500 rpm is completely fixed with Trilogy’s blower kit. The off-idle response and low end TQ is so vastly improved that serious traction problems are now an issue when driving aggressively in 2wd mode.  In fact, Trilogy’s own development supercharged F-150 needs to use 4-wheel drive when being raced and tested at the drag strip, which has run respectable 14.2’s in the quarter mile. This is about a 3 second improvement from an otherwise stock F-150’s quarter mile time. If you’re looking for a serious improvement in overall performance in your 3-valve 5.4L F-150, this is all you’ll need in one box.
