2005 and up 4.0L V-6 Mustang Full Vortech Installs And Custom Dyno Tunes
For the 2005 and up 4.0L V-6 Mustangs, Alternative Auto is offering Full Vortech installs and custom dyno tunes. We will be offering these kits for the 4.0L cars with and with-out Vortech’s water to air after-cooler package, plus include the option of a methanol install too.
Shown in some of the photos is the non-aftercooled Vortech kit that has been complimented with a methanol injection system which has been a very popular upgrade (methanol kits) on non inter-cooled centrifugal blower installs.
The pictured install was upgraded to 11psi instead of the normal 8psi when non-aftercooled from Vortech. With the addition of a Methanol kit which reduces inlet temps, and greatly increases octane we were able to very safely add more boost and get just a tad under 330 RWHP from the 4.0L car.
With the right rear gear ratio upgrade with both automatic and manual transmission cars, this package should offer some great streetablity and fun all around.
When you look at the RWHP Dyno graph, you’ll notice that although this is a centrifugal blower, low and mid-range TQ are enhanced quite well along with the expected bigger gains in the upper mid-range and higher rpms normally associated with centrifugal blowers.
When the non-intercooled 11psi Alky package was completed and tuned, the owner of the V-6 car decided to try to up the boost to about 14psi and see what would happen with the continued use of 93 Octane and Alky injection. The results were 23 more RWHP and about 20 More rear wheel TQ with what appears to be a safe set up.
